How Our Battery Repacking Service Works

We keep the process clear and straightforward:

Step 1: Bring or Courier Your Battery
Bring your battery pack to our store at:
The Battery Cell

If sending by courier, please use tracked courier only.

Step 2: Pay the $22 Re-Pack Deposit (Non-Refundable)
A $22 non-refundable deposit per battery pack is required.
You can: 

  • Pay in-store at the counter, OR 
  • Purchase a Re-Pack Deposit Token online (one per different battery pack supplied unless multiples of the same pack). 

Step 3:  We Assess & Quote
Our technical team will assess your battery and provide a quote (or multiple options if available). 

Quoting typically takes 1–3 business days, depending on workload. 

Step 4: You Decide
We’ll provide the quote for your approval.

  • ✔ YES – We proceed with the rebuild
  • ✖ NO – The $22 deposit covers assessment and return freight (if applicable)

Step 5: Repacking & Completion
If you approve the quote:

  • The $22 deposit is deducted from the total price. 
  • Repacking takes approximately 5–14 business days. 

Payment Terms:

  • In-store drop-off & collection: Balance payable on collection.
  • Online orders: A separate invoice is issued and must be paid in full before work commences.
  • Completed items are couriered back to the supplied address.

Battery Repacking FAQs

Is battery repacking safe?

Yes – when performed by trained technicians using quality cells and proper testing procedures. Professional rebuilding ensures safe operation and correct balancing.

What types of batteries can be repacked?

Most rechargeable battery packs can be rebuilt, including NiMH, NiCd, and many lithium-ion battery packs used in power tools and equipment.

Can car batteries be repacked?

No. Most car batteries (including AGM and standard lead-acid types) are sealed units and cannot be safely repacked. If your vehicle battery has failed, replacement is the correct solution. We stock a wide range of premium car batteries for fast replacement. 

How long does a repacked battery last?

A properly rebuilt battery can last as long as, or sometimes longer than, the original battery, depending on usage and cell quality. 

Does repacking improve battery capacity?

In many cases, yes. Higher-capacity cells can sometimes be used, providing longer runtime than the original pack. 

Is battery repacking worth it for power tools?

For expensive or discontinued tool batteries, repacking is often significantly more cost-effective than buying new, especially for trade users.
