COVID 19 business interruption Updates

COVID-19 business interruptions for THE BATTERY CELL

Any interruptions to our Normal Business Hours for our store will be updated here where possible. Sorry for any inconvenience BUT stay safe out there.


MONDAY 23rd March 2020 -The Battery Cell's Petone Store will be closed from 2pm -Still open 24/7 online. Store re-opens 8am 24th March (Tuesday)

AFTER THE GOVT ANNOUNCEMENT on 23rd March, THE BATTERY CELL will be closed during the Mandatory 4 weeks at Level 4, we will be open online and will be updating you via this portal when needed, you can still purchase online BUT our ability to organise delivery during the 4 weeks is highly restricted and also dependant on what the Couriers are doing during this time (we use Fastway/Aramex and NZ Couriers -please check their websites for information).

TUESDAY 24th March 2020 -The Battery Cell's Petone Store will be closed from 12noon -Still open online. Store re-opens for the LAST time before the 4 week closure 25th March 8am (Wednesday).

WEDNESDAY 25th March 2020 -THE BATTERY CELL will be closed at 12noon today.

THURSDAY 26th March 2020 -THE BATTERY CELL's Petone Store is CLOSED, we are now lonline only based, contactable by email only ( and have the ability to sell/provide essential product where approved and/or deemed necessary -please use common sense, contact if you are unsure of any online purchase BEFORE you purchase.

FRIDAY 27th March 2020 -No updates or changes as at 7.30am this morning -Stay Safe.

SUNDAY 29th March 2020 -No updates, still available for essential purchases of batteries. Once again =Stay Safe. INSIDE is safe, OUTSIDE is a gamble with yours and others lives. We want your custom when this is all over =Stay Safe.

MONDAY 30th March 2020 -Open online but PLEASE, essential product orders only, see info written in RED below and/or make contact if you are not sure. It is NOT that we do not want to provide you with your needs, we are only allowed to trade essential products. Stay Safe. RIP to NZ's 1st Covid-19 victim.

TUESDAY 31st March 2020 -Open Online. End-of-financial-year for a lot of businesses, so please bear with us today as we endeavour to anser/reply to all of your emails. Stay Safe.

WEDNESDAY 1st April 2020 -Don't you wish this was all an April fools Joke? Still open online -sending essential product through-out NZ, if you need to keep moving and a dead battery is stopping you, contact us -we are a govt approved essential business during L4.

THURSDAY 2nd April 2020 -Keep it up NZ!!! Let's continue to fight this battle with boths hands! THE BATTERY CELL still open online and feeling good about who we are helping. Stay Safe!

FRIDAY 3rd April 2020 -Still open online and helping Kiwis to keep moving and live. Please remember, double check all aspects of your ordered product (dimensions etc) as well as your address and shipment selection -take your time to get it right. Remember, we are standing by our email for your questions -HERE.

SATURDAY 4th April 2020 -OPEN ONLINE for direct delivery sales -Essential product and essential service workers will be at the front of the queue, this doesn't mean everyone else's orders will be ignored -as long as we can function we will be processing all the orders we can.

MONDAY 6th April 2020 -Open online and still standing by our email for your querries. Please note, we may not be as quick to respond today as we have a back-log of orders to dispatch from the weekend. BUT we will answer them TODAY. Stay Safe, our email is HERE

THE BATTERY CELL would like to inform those in need of any product to make contact with us. As we will be based from home during this period, please use our email to ask any questions or to see if the product you are after is available to be sent during the lockdown period.

As Batteries are deemed essential in keeping the public mobile, the priority of product will be automotive, boat, commercial and storage batteries.

All other product will be labelled as non-esential and may be refused purchase or delayed with deliveries.
